Re: corn vs. birch

OK --

How's about I flip a coin re: corn v. birch? I thought it might be harvested off those papery things that come off birch trees, but I'm willing to use Genetically-Modified-Organisms corn or whatever to save a tree....

I wonder if birch xylitol has mineral properties like the maple syrup used in The Master Cleanse does. I wonder if hardwoods are more mineral- and nutrient-dense than tropical trees. Where do birch trees gorw? Robert Frost wrote that great poem about being a swinger of birches and he was a bona fide Yankee and I know it's way up north where they make all that good maple syrup...

Oh, one could go on all night! (And is, from the looks of it!)

Wombat, regarding the alcohol -- I really do avoid alcohol-containing products amap. So this is not alcohol, but alcohol sugar... ?

Thanks,

Laura
