Re: what is the sitz bath? [edited]

Thanks, Beej.

That is a very interesting explanation and cure method...that toxins travel toward the cool parts of the body.

As an aside, I guess that cold feet could attract toxins. Maybe it is better to cosy the feet and legs.

Did you ever see stools/chairs designed for sitz baths? Somewhat reclining, with elevated feet would be good, I suppose.

Outdoors would be good, too, for settling the minerals out of well-water, warming some for a hot bath, and for warming the rest of the body during the cold sitz...if some could be reserved from the nightime cold for this purpose.

I wonder if cold packs could be used for drawing toxins toward the bowels.

I once saw a unique three or four level shower, and a porcelain sitz bath tub, with its own tap, in a huge tiled bathroom...in a heritage mansion in Portland, Oregon.

[The sitz bathtub was a V-shaped trough, obviously intended for squatting, and too close to the floor to be practical for an adult of today's size.]

Anyway, I'm sure I'll find a way to utilize a sitz bath in the near future.

Really, nothing is new under the sun.

Many thanks.
