You sound exactly like the typical adrenal patient.....and, yes my dear (I can say that, I'm a grandma!) the folks who post here know EXACTLY how you're feeling and can both sympathize and empathize with you.
You're doing exactly the right thing getting an Adrenal Stress Index. And, yes your assessment is right. IF your adrenals are fatigued taking amphetamines will only make it worse. But in the meantime, don't stop your meds abruptly as it will also cause things to be worse. Take your time, be patient and now you need to become your own advocate and research team.
I think I can speak for alot of us in suggesting 3 very important books.
Dr. James Wilson's Adrenal Fatigue
Dr. Gerald Poesnecker's Chronic Fatigue Unmasked 2000
Dr. Jacob Tietelbaum's Fatigued to Fantastic
Between those 3 books and if you spend some time reading through as many postings as possible on this forum, you will find the information you need to begin a program and formulate a plan.
It is VERY common for suffers of Chronic Fatigue, Adrenal Fatigue or Insufficiency and/or Fibromyalgia to follow the same pattern. On days you feel better, you push, thereby creating another crash. And stress of ANY kind, both physical and emotional can precipitate a crash.
Hang in There....it took you awhile to get to this point. Knowledge is power. You MUST stay calm and focused during this process as stress is the enemy.
