I don't know why it is beneficial to have more, all I know is that the old timers here go with 1/4 teaspoon of 90,000 HU cayenne pepper. The 90,000 HU means heat units. Typically, most of the stuff you find on the shelf in bottles is 30,000 HU. You need to go to a health food store like Whole Foods to get the 90,000 stuff.
