Mine are over 25 years old, and I have dental insurance until the end of the year. So it will probably cost me $200-$400 out of pocket, and the insurance will pay up to $1,500. That's all I'm getting done--the worst of them. But the intent is that will be the ones that are LEAKING the most. I called around to three dentists, and although the one I'm going to is over an hour away, I choose the right one. Compassion and heart counts as much as skill, and he doesn't put mercury fillings in anymore, once a friend of mine told him/educated him. So he isn't "THE ALTERNATIVE DENSTIST" but he is young, willing to learn, and he is going to be as careful as he can be. The "alternative" dentists IN the CITY were MUCH more costly, and wouldn't be considerate of my situation--I may be misjudging, but they were seeing money signs in my mouth, and the one made me feel crummy--the second I didn't go to--just to walk into his office and consult cost $140.

So, I'm thrilled excited. If I were you, I'd get the DMSO (or something like that) resistance test to check y our mercury levels. I wouldn't have done it, except mine were high, and I have a history of emotional problems. I'm divorcing my husband of 27 years, and I'd best make sure I'm in my right mind as much as possible, yeah?
