Well, let's just say that this culture likes it vices! Religion or alcohol, take your pick. Both alter the mind.

The south is a place of contridictions. I can say this 'cause I am a homegirl. I worked so hard to get out of the south and now that I am back 12 years later, I can see why I wanted to leave, but also I can see why I wanted to come back. Let's just say this place is sweet and sour. Having lived in Hawaii and New Mexico, which was basically like living in other countries, I look at my own culture with different eyes than before I left.

For sure, I can see the Scot/Irish influence. I love the way people almost sing to you in conversation. I also love the charming sense of humor and the way people wink at you can call you honey in a sweet, nuturing way.

I am home and happy for now.
