Answers to your questions:

I didn't start cheleting with ALA until over 2 years after my fillings were out. I did that because I tried methods like cilantro and NAC first. I think the other problem I had with ALA was it was giving me a "drug" reaction - hives and rashes more severe then what I already had.

I did a round of Colonics, multiple parasite cleanses, and took thousands of dollars in herbs and supplements. In retrospect, especially the herbs I would not recommend to anyone unless they are absolutely sure they are pure. I think some of the herbs I took were contaminated with heavy metals because I got much worse after taking herbs from a Naturopath for about 9 months.

I tried Vitamin C, doesn't do much. Cilantro works, but makes me really sick from the mercury dump. I didn't do DMSA or DMPS with the ALA. That was probably my mistake. I don't want to use a non-natural chelator. Of course, the thing that is not generally known about ALA is its not natural unless its in the "R" form. Most supplements are synthetic ALA and arn't pure R-ALA. I didn't know this at the time.

Also, I think the other problem is that the heavy metals I was dealing with were lead and arsenic as well. I have had arsenic poisoning symptoms along with the mercury poisoning symptoms - i.e. tingling in the extremities, spots on the back, calousies on the hands, numbness in the hands, etc. I'm not sure if I got these from contaminated herbs or something else.

I did hair analysis and it didn't show much of anything. But I don't regard this test as reliable, because if the mercury is "trapped" and not coming out, you will show low mercury in the hair.

I do know I reacted to heavy metals entergetically ( as shown through a Bioset machine, and kinesiology ), and I still react to this day to anything that chelates heavy metals. I also react to homeopathic remedies for heavy metal detox.

I think in my case my whole immune system and entergetic system ( meridans ) were completely screwed up by the heavy metals. I'm slowly fixing it using NAET and homeopathic remedies.

Also, I got a round of vaccinations in 1996 - which really contributed to the problem. This makes me more complex than the average Amalgam victim I think.
