Re: This song! (CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION)
Tommy James and The Shondells had that hit in the 60's.
I was young and wild and worked at Edgewater Beach on
Lake Erie. It reminds me of sun and sand, blue water,
and handsome men's bottoms. My boyfriend was a lifeguard
and we were in a hurry to make the most of our youth since
the Vietnam War was going on and so many of our brothers,
fathers and friends were drafted or volunteered to fight.
The song meant hope...for the future...
When I see the lyrics now, I think, its like deja vu since
in my mind, I still feel like that young woman but we are
in a different war, and in so many ways we have lost our
innocence and all we have to cling to is hope...
It will take a lot of "crystal blue persuasion:~~!
peace & love & brotherhood,
Zoe
