Re: Interesting (and very technical) article about candida
Yes. This is one area I have been looking at. Unfortunately, there are also many other factors leading up to the blocking of class 1 cytokine disfunction. { I have found a way to partially reverse this} But it is the issue of prostaglandins which really bring to surface why there are so many inflammitory reactions in persons with candida\yeast\parasitic infections---yes,
parasites can produce isotypic prostaglandins. This is why the developement of highly specific cyclooxygenases esp.2, can be an effective way of distrupting the immuno-suppressive cycles of these organisms. {now you got me started}!
I have concluded that there needs to be a 3 pronged approach to combating intestinal pathogens; #1 anti-fungal\anti-
parasite cleansings #2 drugs targeting the hypothalamus and g-protein receptors [agonistic or inhibitory] #3
Antibiotics .
It is only in these combinations that fast and effective results will be seen.
It would be a mistake to take anti-biotics alone.
The rest is maintenance--diet, probiotics, PB shakes etc. Shroom
