I think that it's perfectly normal that you would find it upseting that your friend would say something in the presence of others without saying something to you first. Even so, I'd let it slide. It sounds as though you guys might not know each other all that well yet & he might not feel comfortable criticizing you without "backup". So...give it time. Mellow out. & Now that you know that it drives him crazy to have the same channel on all the time, out of consideration, give up that remote!
I'm not saying to stop watching what you want altogether, you need to do what makes YOU happy, but ease off a little.
It IS hard living with people. You never really know how they're percieving a situation. Something that is HILARIOUS to you is annoying to him!
