Well, when we put our thoughts out there for debate there is a certain amount of vunerablity to the act. However, the more you participate, the more you will learn to not take reactions personally. Yes, we all like to be agreed with, myself included. However, it is good practice to detach from the reactions of others, less we may be swayed in a manner that is not true of our hearts and minds.
Even though ML and I are polarized on this issue in many ways, we both do not take our barbs personally (atleast not too much), and that makes it more honest. So, therefore if you care not about what others think, your voice will more accurately reflect your authentic thoughts. And that is after all, how the truth shines through the muck and maunder.
(Just a little Buddhist thought to counter the Christian idiom.)
