Headache from what I think is sinus problem
Hello,
I suppose a brief background would be sensible: I'm a 34 year old guy. I have had a runny nose / bit of sneezing for years (at least since early twenties) and used to think that it was normal until my mum suggested I take anti-histamine tablets. Well, they certainly helped a lot - although I never felt happy taking 2 or 3 of them a day pretty much every day. Fast forward to last week and I went on holiday to the sea carrying a slight cold, nothing unbearable though. 2 days into the holiday, as I was walking along a very cold and blustery sea-front I got an almighty headache in the centre, just above the eyes. I'm not a wimp, but had to sit down because of the pain (and the shock to be honest). I actually wanted to lie down and cry because it hurt so much and felt so unusual. The remaining 4 days of the holiday were spent with the headache - I'd take the anti-histamines and was taking anadin extra (which I stopped taking and replaced with sudafed to try to relieve the pressure). I didn't know what the best thing to do / take was, but not a lot worked. The house I was in had hesian flooring which I don't think can possibly have helped my allergic reaction!!!! Anyway, I now seem to wake up every morning with a headache and congested head / nose. I take an antihistamine (thinking that if I can stop myself NEEDING to blow my nose ALL THE TIME, it will relieve the pressure and stop the headache. I also take an anadin extra to try to clear the headache.
So much for a brief background.
Oh, I suppose I should mention that over the past couple of years I have been to the doctors twice for dizzy spells (like when you stand up too quickly and get a head rush - but it happens to me when I am just sitting doing nothing). I was told it was probably my diet / not drinking enough water.
Right, anyone who has any advice / comforting words would be very much appreciated!
Thanks.
Duncan
