I've been a Type 1 diabetic for 23 years. I was diagnosed a diabetic when I was 8 years old. However, the reason I "got" diabetes was because the pediatrician gave me prednozone to deal with an asthmatic issue. Of course, everyone now knows that a side effect of prednozone is diabetes. With that being said, I feel that my pancreas is not functioning at all or very little, because of the damage caused by the prednozone. I'm currently taking many herbs such as cinnamon, gymnema, coQ10, fish oil, GTF Chromium, to name just a few. What are the odds, given that information, that I might have pancreatic stones or tape/fluke worms? The supplements that I have been taking have allowed me to reduce my insulin usage dramatically, but I'm far from "cured". Is there anything that you might recommend to assist me in restoring my pancreas? I know you don't "prescribe" per se, but a little guidance would be very much appreciated!
