Grass seed tea

Hello All!

Ive noticed that here in the mid-west, there are a lot of tall grasses that have large seed heads (usually close to water). I was wondering if these would be good to collect and boil for the grass seed tea? This time of year they are really dry and some are furry. If they are still good Id assume that I could freeze some for use over the winter?

Thanks!
JML
