Dog in horrible accident any sugestions

My beloved dog was hit by a car nearly two weeks ago. It was horrific. The vet did x-ray, and found that her pelvic bone was nearly crushed. She said the best option was to call in a specialist for surgery, but that if I kept her immobile for 4-6 weeks I would be amazed by her recovery. She's small (fox terrier) and the vet said she sees miracles in small dogs with this kind of injury. I could not afford the bill to call in a specialist. So I have been keeping her in a basket. I am wondering if there is anything I should be doing to help this recovery that I am not thinking of. She is on pain meds and antibiotic, so I am giving her kefir daily. I am also feeding her lots of organ meats for nutritional value and to keep her stools soft. Anyone think of anything else I need to be doing for her??
