Re: Turmeric

I seem to have tolerated some indian food (rice and vegetables) in a restaurant, when I couldnt avoid eating out rather well.

Indidan kitchen heavily uses turmeric, so this could be the cause.

Wikipedia sais, that *some* oxidant properties of turmeric have been shown, that could be countered by adding vitamin E. This was not a study on humans (or even animals) though, but on a cell line (which means the result need not have any relevance for turmeric eaten by you).

Taking some additional vitamin E seems to be a good idea with ulcerative colitis anyways, so, there is probably no harm if you try taking turmeric to supplement vitamin E also :)

Good luck with it :)
