thats very interesting. but the difference could actually be from the presence of different minerals in differing amounts in the two locations. one may have a higher concentration of trace minerals than the other for a whole host of reasons. for instance above i asked about why himalayan salt is pink and invincible said it was due to high iron content. so, for whatever reason there was a higher iron content in the sea in the himalayan region than in the sea in the nevada region. this would also go for other minerals as well.

thats intersting about the reported mineral content of the himalayan salt, tho. it does seem to me to be more trace mineral heavy than the redmonds.
