Re: Minerals....question

yes, taking it in any form is a good thing, i agree.

i take kelp, in two different ways. one is the powdered form which i usually take both with meals and in between meals. when i take it in between meals, i always follow it with some water and lemon juice.

i also love making seaweed broths with other types of seaweeds like dulse, wakame, and hijiki. i let that simmer while i do other things, sometimes for several hours. then i either make some miso soup with it, or just add some Sea Salt and fresh lemon juice. its VERY energizing. the minrals are leached out into the water, and thus they are the MOST absorbable form of mineral possible. this is because they are both plant based, and dissolved in water. and when you add some lemon juice to naturally chelate them, the body takes them up immediately.

i personally know of no reason why kelp and other seaweeds would interfere with any other food or supplement. the great thing about seaweed is that its food, its not a supplement nor is it an herb. the longest living culture on earth, the okinawans, eat some form of seaweed for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a snack too. seems to do them a lot of good.

but i suppose its possible it could interefere with something somewhere, but i have personally never heard of it.
