I see that your boy is ten months old. I think 8 - 10 hours on a daily basis is too long to leave him alone without access to a place to eliminate or a break.

I have four dogs and I am gone for longer than 10 hours on a regular basis, but they have the run of the house all day and access 24/7 to an attached outside 12' by 12' dog run that is very nice. One of my dogs practically lives out there in nice weather even when I'm home all day. Tweet
