If you care about your cat, please keep her in the house!
In addition to the risk of being pursued by predators, run over by cars, or tormented by children, outside cats can easily pick up both internal and external parasites from birds or vermin.
The average life span of a cat kept outside is about 3 years; for a cat kept inside, it is over 15 years. As someone suggested, brushing and combing your cat will help keep the cat hair quotient down and it is good for the cat.
My three cats enjoy sunning themselves on our screened-in porch. They are family, and at 18, 16 and 3 years of age, I am glad they haven't made college plans!
