Interesting that you ask this, because I had been on Coptis & Bitters but they did nothing for me. (However, I did like the saussurea mouthwash for my sensitive teeth).
It turned out that my abnormal bleeding had been caused by PROLONGED VIEWING OF COMPUTER MONITOR (and LCDs can be worse than some CRTs & vice versa).
I made a website based on my bitter experiences (just search google for:

What helps most:
Lots of black-cherry concentrate juice (or bing cherries) on more or less empty stomach or black cherry yogurt.
Moist eggs, oils
(note: for some, green olive oil is irritating)
What triggers most:
Red grapes (phenols)
Raw Garlic (phenols) - including garlicky pickles etc.
Onions (sulphur) - including oniony herring
Malic acid (i.e. apples, apple/oats combo
Beware any acids - such as cranberries
Oreos/Chocolate (if not buffered with creams/oils/eggs - for example, moist choco-cake may not be so bad if made w/some eggs.
P.S. Some people push D-Mannose for UTI, but it proved useless to me & was way expensive!
