Re: Malaria protection - coons - bluandyelo

Hi, bluandyelo,

Maine Coon cats: they are a large, gentle cat with magnificent plume-like tails. I believe that is why they are called coons because the racoon also has a large furry tail -- do you know of these animals? They are a small member of the bear family with efficient claws, have very nice faces with dark 'masks' around the eyes; generally, they hunt at night. The cat has a long coat which takes three to five years to develop; they are gorgeous with such sweet natures. They are taken to be native to the State of Maine in the U.S., but their ancestors came over on ships; they have tufted fur on their feet which allows them to handle the snow quite well. Since our sons are grown, we decided to get these nice sisters as companions. One thinks that she is our baby and her sister is a great adventuress!

Kindest thoughts.
