That's true, but how many footballers could still claim to have the same levels of fitness and strength they had in their early 20's even if they did keep training.
I'm just saying that the same level of "health" that those guys have when they are so young is almost impossible to maintain into later life, because it is artificial. Look at a very lean and pure martial artist, he can maintain his form being beaten and bashed very late into his life. The very fact that a footballer loses this abillity is a sign that the "health" he had was unsustainable and has resulted in damage to the body.

Again, these are all my generalisations!
