I didn't do the oregano/coconut oil salve last night, but just an hour ago. Plain coconut oil first (after thorough bathing in clear tapwater).
I made my ointment of a piece of regular coconut oil about the size of 1/3 of an egg, and added 1 drop of the oregano, in a ceramic dish...stirred with a metal spoon. This made plenty for about 5 - 6 applications. (I use a cover of folded paper towel for a while, to save clothing.)
It isn't 'hot', thank goodness. I may add another drop of oregano to the pot.
The brand of oregano is 'Joy of the Mountains' wild oregano, in a base of 25% extra-virgin olive oil. (That's why my husband can take it under his tongue!)
Another oregano product I like is Watkin's Italian herbal mix. We sprinkle it on salads and into any cooked dish. It's great with eggs. If you buy the Watkin's products be certain that you get the straight herbals. They have another that is intended to make Italian salad dressing, although it's a good product, too.
All Watkins herbs and spices are of very good quality.
So, that's what I've done so far. I'll let you know what happens.
