Responsibility. I don't think that schools think it's their responsibility, I think they think it's their duty, because of all the parents out there that do not know how, or won't, teach their children anything about sex. For goodness sake, those kids, from a very young age now, know about SEX. And unless they get some facts, most likely all they know about sex is misinformation. Are they ready, OF COURSE they are ready from the time they start menstruation, or by the time boys are going through their first realization that girls look GOOD and they don't know why.

We are simply animals. Without proper education, we will perform our basest instincts without any knowledge of how it can affect us.

I bet you a gazillion dollars that all the schools have permission slips, and those parents that want to take that responsibility can do so. And even after that, I bet those kids would rather have heard it in class than from the (ugh) Mom and Dad!
