This was my first Water Fast too and the first few days I'd have warm herbal tea (decaf) and that really helped me.
Just count it literally, hour by hour. Go to bed early and if possible turn off the TV or at least mute the commercials. The ads for food drove me crazy the first day or two...go figure!
The first 24 hours were harder and then it got progressively easier...don't give up and if you are thinking about eating something, visualize how you'll feel to have gone through the first part of the fast and then broken it. That helped me, because on my first day I went off and ate something and I felt so stupid and tricked and like slave to food.
Now I'm on day 21 and I fell great! You can do this. I think once you get through the first 24/36 hrs, it is easier than juice fasting, because you don't have weigh or cook or eat anything and your body is cleaning house!
Most people are a little afraid of Water Fasting and I think that's where the stigma comes from, but that's my opinion!
