Before reading your post, I today had one meal, and then drank lemonade through the evening. I at least maintain, and I'm on a downward trend; about 7 pounds off in the last 2-3 weeks. So, I'm just keeping at it, using whatever tools I can that I've learned about on forums, reading, etc.
I too like the nutrient dense complex carbs. It may be that once we get our diets under control and reach our goal weights, we'll either have most of our illnesses resolved, and if not, we may then be ready for therapeutic water fasting.
I too must add foods that Fuhrman wouldn't approve, but I find I'm making more headway, and more premanent changes doing it this way.
