Re: Ulcerative Colitis Cure - Vitamin E Enema & Diet
Hello again,
First, let me say thank you so much for responding. Thanks for your encouragement, your help, and most importantly thanks for sharing your time.
Okay, no matter what I eat(everyday I am hesitant to eat, it is not a pleasureable or comforting event for me anymore and hasn't been for 14 yrs)I have extreme diareah. And I mean extreme. It's just liquid there's hardly ever anything solid unless I am on high doses of prednisone or Remicade which I am currently not taking. I will tell you what is currently going on with my diet and my meds but let me first say I radically changed things after I read your article. Currently, I am not taking any precription meds. I stopped Sulphazalizide and Canasa cold turkey 2 days ago. Before that I just got off a 2 month cycle of prednisone about three weeks ago. I stopped only because there is a side of me that firmly believes the meds are making me sick. I'm not crazy. Let me say that during the past 14 years (about 7 years ago) for 2 years I took no meds and I could eat more and had no bleeding. Additionally, about two years ago when I was on Remicade I was at the hospital recieving an infusion when I sparked up a conversation with a lady getting a blood transfusion. She said the Mayo clinic told her she had Crohn's 25 years ago and now they are saying she never had it and all the drugs she's taken over the years have destroyed her digestive system and it's bleeding all the time. So those two experience are stuck in my head and that's why I belive the meds are making me sick. Consequently, I have tried many times in the past to get off the meds entirely but I usually get very sick and end up back on prednisone for a few months. Currently, I am taking a digestive enzyme and some probiotics. I also take Digestive Advantage™ for Crohn's and Colitis and the one for IBS. Before I read your article I pretty much adheared to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet by Elaine Gottschall with a few exceptions. Here's my current diet: plenty of brown rice blended in soy milk with almonds or peanut butter. No fruits or juices. No frozen vegetables. Plenty of plain steamed chicken breast, broccoli, carrot, parsnip, turnip, potatoes, yellow squash, and cucumbers all steamed. I occasionally juice cabbages and carrots (I was told cabbage juice helps heal ulcers). I eat small amounts of eggs with mushrooms and onion. I tried tapioca and yogurt but dairy products have never agreed with me since I became sick. I used to eat lots of salmon but it doesnt agree with me anymore either. Neither does canned tuna or any other fish. I drink lots of water that comes from a double charcoal and ? filter system that's under my sink. I eat an occasional bagel. That's prety much it.
The vitamin e supplement I picked up is an oil not in capsules. I figured why o through the trouble of getting it out of the capsule when it's already in an oil state in a container. It is 100% all natural d-alpha Tocopherol made by NOW.It contains no yeast wheat gluten milk egg
preservatives additives colors or synthetic vitamin e. The only other ingredient is extra virgin olive oil.
