Re: Always one Cyst

Okay, I am definitely not going to suggest taking an overdose of any vitamins but you probably need to take more then what a multivitamin is giving you. The dosage in a multivitamin is low for someone who's body is pretty much under stress/damage of some sort. Your body has got to be battling something inside or you wouldn't be getting the cysts. Also, just to let you know I have read that proactiv doesn't work well with cystic acne, not to discourage you. It is something I have read on several sites as well as this one. If you are going to use the proactiv definitely get a really good moisturizer because the benz. peroxide is extremely drying to your face. Even if your face feels good right now it may take a few weeks to see the drying effects. I would suggest either Aloe vera gel (use at night as it can get flaky), coconut oil or emu oil. Here are a list of vitamins/supplements that help your body to fight acne.

Vitamin A: 25,000 IU
Vitamin E: 400 IU
EFA (omega 3,6,9): two pills a day or 2 - 4 tbsp a day of liquid EFA's
B Complex Vitamins: 50 mg
Zinc: 50 mg
Magnesium: 800 mg
Selenium: 100-200 mcg (no more as can be toxic in high doses)
Vitamin C: 1000 mg
Lecithin: 2 pills a day
MSM: 5-10 grams for one week and then down to 1 gram a day
Saw Palmetto: 200-300 mg a day with foods containing fat
Maca Root: 2 tbsp a day (organic powder)
Coconut oil: 3 tbsp a day (work your way slowly to 3 as it is very detoxing)
Primal Defense: Start with 2 a day (great probiotic to restablish good bacteria)

I got this information out of an online holistic Acne book called Acne No More, in case you are wondering if I made all this up. Since taking these vitamins and supplements I have seen a big improvement in my acne. It has not cured it but is giving my body what it needs to fight it and heal itself. I understand about the garlic. I have found that taking it on an empty stomach and then eating something afterward helps with the garlicy breath. I have garlic breath for an hour or so but after that it goes away. If you can't eat it raw try to incorporate atleast 3 cloves or more in your cooking. If you want info on how each of these vitamin helps your body I can give that to you too, just let me know. Check out your multivitamin and see how much it is giving you in each dose. Since our bodies are damaged we need so much more to heal then the regular healthy person. Good luck and I hope this helps.
