Quite likely it is the change in the type of cooking oils used in the food. The US uses most polyunsaturated oils in restaurants and prepared/snack/frozen foods. These oils are extremely oxidizing and can overload the body very quickly. My suggestion would be to get some mixed tocopherol(and tocotrienols if you can find it) vitamin E, 400IU. Start off taking 2 a day. Then if you see an improvement in your complexion, try dropping down to 1 capsule per day.
I had increasing Acne for many months and most of it cleared in about a week with the extra vitamin E.
