I had a really bad couple of days....but I took a moment to do just what you said Autumn...(instinctively we know these things when we take a minute). The highlight of my day was just talking to the "special" boy(man) who takes in the carts at Walmart. I told him how I always noticed his smile, and what a good job he did at it. He just GLOWED. He tried to talk to me, and I stayed still and quiet enough to listen. Seeing his face shine at being praised .... that made my day.
When I reflected back on my 'crappy day' THAT was the piece of gold. And it helped to 'touch' it in my memory. I need something like that each day....and it mustn't be forced or planned or anything.
