in my opinion,there is a genetic issue about food tolerance, too. tropical foods that are coming from far and exotic countries such as coconut, pineapple, papaya and so on, are not intended by nature to be consumed in different climates as a rule, so it depends on our genes and their ability to deal with foods...People are different, someone can become quite sick with someone else's favorite. Many times it is wise to start with small amounts when dealing with such foods, increasing slowly,I believe so. don't give up, coconut is wonderful, but starting with a bowl op soup could have bee a bit exxagerate! give time to yr stomach to adapt.
