I have struggled with the same thing. I either make the bread recipe from NT or I buy organic sprouted wheat bread and put different organic ingredients on them. For snacks, I put in organic apple sauce, or my own trail mix (cashews, raisins, shredded coconut, small amount of all natural M&Ms from Whole Foods) which the kids really like or fruit. My kids pretty much know that I don't give chips or cookies for snack and seem to be okay with this.I did buy a steel thermos to send with my daughter in middle school since she likes soup so much. I also have a salad holder - the top has a container that holds the dressing and you press a button when you want to put it on the greens.
