Gee wiz!
Hey Analogkid,
You can argue the squarewave/harmonics junk all you want but it's just plain silly! Dr. Clark contradicts you in her book! It would BE (potentially) beneficial for you to READ her book.
As for the crap about CMOS... The Zapperplans Circuit was designed by a man with 30 + years of electronics EXPERIENCE. You may know some things about analog, but you really ought to go back to school before you go off about CMOS.
WHEEW WHEEW, I am blowing my wistle here! Where are you getting this stuff about these chips? The "issues" you seem to have with the CD4069UB are extremely unsubstantial. The 4069 is fully designed with diode protection internally. So unless you go hooking some HIGH voltage to your Zapper, (which you wouldn't want to do with any Zapper) you aren't going to blow it. Weather is not going to make any difference either. (Hehe, I think you've got you're wires crossed!)
The typical frequency outputs have nothing to do with the actual research. The reason the ZP Zapper works AND any other Zapper is because it is #1 Positively offset (DC), and #2 because it fits in the range of anything from 10 Hz to 500'000 Hz. (ZP at 23,000 Hz).
http://www.drclark.net/disease/zapper.htm The best resons to use CMOS are #1 it is less expensive to produce and #2 it is much more battery efficient! (The TLC555 is going to cost more and still be the less battery efficient.)
;) Just had to jump in! As for the origonal question about the Zapperplans Plans, Yes they are up to date! The schematic has been updated not to long ago for easier reading and the only thing not up to date are the links to radio shack. They have discontinued 3 of the parts, so you would have to find them at another store or online. Just get yourself a Zapper going! Ask your friend's hubby which circuiut he'd rather build, he may have a preference just for his skills.
Have an Awesome day everyone! I'm heading out tomorrow on a 13 hour drive... :( I think I'll have internet access when I get there, but I don't know if I'll have any time to get on. Hopefully! If not, I'll *see* you all when I get home!
