ActonReligion received $60,000 from Exxon since 1998.
"should mankind change the atmosphere to the point where we are no longer protected by it?" - Does Gods gift of the earth to humans mean that Climate Change is okay, that it is a natural event that is all part of the plan?
Or do humans have to learn lessons on how to live within our means?
And are these the means and resources given to us:
a] to use wisely?
or
b] to use up as quick as possible?
What is the Christian view of 'climate change'? Are there more than one Christian view on these things? Is the environment something that protect us, and is it our responsibility to protect the envioronment against our own actions? Does that relate to god protecting us, and do we have to protect HIM too?

Quips from article on Acton Religious group and EssoExxon-Mobile, and Bush; {link below to full story] -
To de-bunk the idea of Global Climate Change, Exxon-Mobil has given the conservative Religious group "Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty" $60,000 .
This is an example of the worst of all situations regarding Religion and Politics getting into bed together. I hope they wear protection.
When propaganda for state lies needs help, they turn to religious groups for their heavy clout in being able to turn people's mindsd around, for their influential ability that comes from "representing god".
Holy Cracky-Doodle Batman! Could this be real? Would government stoop so low as to PAY religious groups with real money to do their bidding on matters of envirnmental conscience? To debunk the facts on Global Warming as a left-wing E.U. socialist attempt to take over the United States???
Yup.
Sad.
Will any christians on this forum stand up and say this is not right? OR will the christians stay silent and let the plan unfold unhindered? Are they so sure of the plans that Bush has for us, for the planet? Are they sure there is actually a Bush-plan of how to deal with the 150million metric tonnes of CO2 we put into the air every YEAR , or do they just hope it is having no effect?
These Right Wing Christians are now offically running the world, since they have enough numbers to elect Bush to a second term. So we are under their guidance now, even though they are not actually over 50% in numbers. Its not democratic, and it is way beyond the purvue of any organised religion to rule to world.
Jesus used to talk about absolute power, and what goes with it...
Jesus was not in favour of domination and dominant rulers...
Hypocracy is one of the primary problems in the world for Jesus, now or 2000 years ago. Hypocracy and deciept, Manipulation and controlling behaviors.
Tpo say nothing of destroying the envirnment. Do all christians believe this quote from the Acton group? - "God has given humans dominion over the natural world" - and does it really mean that humans can do what they want with the earth without consequence? For ex., should mankind change the atmosphere to the point where we are no longer protected by it?
