It would seem then that you two are saying religion is bad, Christianity good. Makes sense, but true religion is religion proper and is merely visiting the fatherless and the widows "in their affliction" AND keeping oneself unspotted from the world (ie worldliness). Rules are necessary for people to live together, every government has them: family, church, civil. Makes each have its own needs met and its own 'personality' expressed, and is the reason for states governing themselves and families, and churches and voila---people too. The Church Spiritual is not the church physical.
Interesting discussion. I think that apostalic teaching is great if always taken in context.
