I have read and heard mixed reports about the benefits of colonics. I can't help but wonder if they make your colon get kind of lazy and unable to function properly on its own. It does seem a little unnatural (although our modern diets are not exactly natural, either). I have talked to a least a few people who felt that in the long run, it did more harm than good. I started out colon cleansing with just fiber products and herbal laxative teas, along with kefir and cultured veggies, with a healthy whole-food diet, and that seems to keep the plumbing moving. I'm guilty of depending a little too much on the products and am trying to work with just the cultured foods and fiber from vegetables, etc. Do you feel like you might ever want to wean yourself off colonics?
