I certainly wouldn't contemplate having the surgery myself. I hang out on an Irritable Bowel Syndrome discussion board. You would be amazed how many people there have had their gallbladders removed and lo and behold, that was when their chronic diarrhea and irritable bowel problems started, although many of them seem to fail to make the connection. Having unregulated quantities of bile dumped straight into the intestines, rather than progressive release through the gallbladder must be very irritating. You end up on medication for the rest of your life.
I have done 20 flushes (was very overweight and congested) and on only one occasion did I get any discomfort during the night. This was resolved by taking more Epsom Salts and lying down with a hot water bottle over the ribcage area.
