I am a firm believer that if I look at the sky and it's blue, then I will argue with those that tells me it's not blue.
My brother went on the atkins diet and lost 30 pounds in four weeks. When he went to the doctor, his cholesterol was tested and the doctor told him the cholesterol pills were working great because his cholesterol was down to 205 (from over 300) My brother informed him that when he started the diet, he quit the pills. His cholesterol went down around 100 points eating fatty meats.
Now I believe the Atkin's diet is extreme and should not be used for long period of time. I personally believe that cholesterol is from bad carbs like bread, wheat and Sugar that he accidentally gave up while giving up all carbs.
