EVERYONE has baggage even MntnDew. Everyone has things they need to work through. Ask any pastor/priest/rabbi who's done real marriage counseling.
We don't live in wally and june cleaver world. People are broken down, warped and deffective. That is life in this imperfect world. Seek perfection, and you will be disappointed. The advice I'd give is, make sure the person is at the same maturity level so that you can TALK rationally and sanely about problems that develop for communication is key to a lasting relationship. The next is respect. A relationship of that magnitude and closeness cannot be whole and functional without respect. Respect her experiences, treat her humanely.. That should get rid of her anger.
