I find the trouble with cookbooks is everyone recommends different levels of strictness diet wise. Personally, I stick to mostly salads with olive oil/apple cider vinegar(unpasteurised, organic) and fresh herbs - sometimes ginger - and cayenne. I eat lots of steamed veggies drizzled in olive oil and celtic salt(dissolved in water) and small portions of organic fish and meat. Almonds( although it's best to remove the skins as they contain yeast) pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds.
When it comes to cooking I just make soups and sweat down leeks and courgettes in olive oil and whatever herbs and spices I fancy. Simple food and delicious.
The way to approach it is to look at the wonderful selection of natural foods allowed and experiment within those parameters.
Get into the mind-set of simple, nourishing, whole foods and it will all fall into place.
