I believe that you have the ability to discriminate for yourself, and that there is no need to feel "paranoid" of any teachings available. I see it in your words. I also believe that the right path for each of us always presents itself. It is impossible for you to make any mistakes in this regard; ie. in choosing a path to take.
Sivananda really meant that it is important to balance book learning with real practice of a yogic lifestyle, not necessarily "tuition" per se.
