OCTOBER 16, 2004. Here is the next revelation in the 2004 Chiron flu-vaccine scandal. Now that the FDA has decided Chiron's plant in England contaminated far too much vaccine to allow it to be used on the public, FDA Commissioner Lester Crawford has given a quote to Reuters:

“The system was such that a small number of the lots were in fact contaminated. As we tried to assure ourselves that this was isolated to those few lots, we were not able to do so,” Crawford said.
Crawford said the FDA would certainly have found the problems, because even if Chiron had verbally reported it cleared up the problems the FDA would have tested the vaccine before releasing it and would have found the contamination.
“They always knew it had to go through this lot release system,” he said.

Well, well. As I reported last week, between 6 and 27 million doses of the Chrion vaccine are already in the US in distributors' warehouses. They were sent (standard practice) to the US from England before Chiron did its last safety test---and health bureaucrats have been worrying about where some of that vaccine might have gone.

I pointed out that, according to US health officials, the Chiron vaccine in the US has been OUTSIDE THE REGULATORY CONTROL OF BOTH THE FDA AND CHIRON.

And now Crawford claims that, even if Chiron had not discovered the contamination in England, the FDA would have.

How, I ask, since THE VACCINE IN THE US HAS BEEN OUTSIDE THE REGULATORY CONTROL OF THE FDA.

It is a mortal-lock certainty that some of that flu vaccine has "escaped" from US warehouses and is now on the market.

Either Crawford is dull beyond hope, or he is lying outright.

The horse is out of the barn.

Of course, NONE of this interests mainstream American reporters. They are too busy writing about long lines of people waiting for shots and the surge in price of flu vaccine, owing to the demand.
