Stress is the Killer

Hi I first was diagnosed with UC in 1977 my first doctor treated me with azulphadine and after a few months I went into remission until 1983 at which time I had the worst flare up of my life. I lost all kinds of weight and missed 9 weeks of work. I finally had to change doctors and it was the best move of my life up to that point. I have been treated by the same doctor ever since. He put me on variety of drugs to get me back into remission Azulphadine, Imuran, Lomotil, Folic Acid, Prilosec and Prednisone. Once I got into remission he gradually worked me off the prednisone but I still continued to take the other drugs daily. I really didn't have a problem taking the drugs because it was A LOT better than having another flare up and I remained in remission for 10 years. In 1993 I had another flare up and went back to the same doctor and he had me try Enemas that didn’t work and I eventually had to go back on the Prednisone to get under control and back into remission. Everything was fine until 6/1/06 when I became a pawn in an FBI investigation I will not bore you with the details lets just say that I am falsely accused and will not cooperate with the FBI and for that they have made my life a living hell. They got me fired from my job, I have to take a drug test every week (Even though I have never had a drug problem) my phone is tapped and I have been given travel restrictions even though I have not been convicted of anything. I have never been under so much pressure and stress in my life! Needless to say my colitis has flared up I am sick in the stomach, I have the bloated feeling all the time and have started to bleed. I have an appointment to see my old doctor in a couple of weeks (Its amazing how they make you wait) and I am sure he is going to put me back on the prednisone and I really don't want that because even though it works it makes me crazy and I lose my temper all the time while I am on the drug. That is not something you want when you have to go to court and get cross examined by a vindictive prosecutor. Does anyone have something else I might be able to try other than the Prednisone?
