Bad breath & bad smell connection: strange smell phenomena

Hi,

does anyone else experience the following?

Sometimes when I am exposed to a strong aroma (good or bad)
such as perfume, car fumes etc, or when I enter a room or train
carriage/bus/lift with bad ventilation, I sense this very bad smell.

I realise this probably is caused somehow by the VSCs which
cause my bad breath,

but how does it work?

These external gases apparently mix with my internal (i e in
back of oral cavity/sinuses) gases, and this phenomena occurs.

Was just wondering if someone has similar experiences,
and do you think the smell I feel at these occassions is an
indication of how my breath really smells to others,
or do you think the external and internal compounds mix
to create a different odour alltogether?

It's very confusing and bewildering,
any info would be much appreciated...
