Re: newbie just diagnosed with hypoadrenia
Hi!
Join the club. We're all in the same boat. The best information you can get is the book "Adrenal Fatigue--the 21st Century Stress Syndrome". Check Amazon.com or maybe you can get in in a health food store like I did. It's got over 300 pages of everything you need to know and more. It will help you understand the symptoms, treatment, diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, etc., along with ways to monitor your progress. Almost anything you could ever want to know is in it, and it's easy to read and understand. I've read it about 10 times and still refer to it several timss a week. There is a 6 page questionaire with detailed scoring to help you understand how severe you have it, and you'll see all the different symptoms. Everyone experiences it differently, but there are a lot of common symptoms like you mentioned. The scoring considers not only how many symptoms you have, but also the degree of severity, so that someone with only a few severe symptoms and someone with many milder symptoms still will have accurate scores in the end.
It looks like more and more people are going to get this, due to our high-stress, poor-nutrition lifestyles, so we should be hearing a lot more about this as time goes by. Just don't expect the medical profession to pick up on it.
Hang in there--things will get better!
