Digestion Problems
Hi,
I've been reading the forum and would like to talk about my problem and what to do about it.
The 1st of November I visted family in Texas. They live in a rural area and have well water. They also have numerous outside animals including cats that are fed slop and wetted down dry cat food. I had coffee made from the well water and spent some time outside around the cats.
2 days after coming home I developed diarhea. Watery! I just thought I had a bug. It persisted for 2 weeks when I went to the GP. He took a stool sample and checked for viruses. None. He sent me to the gastrointerologist and she immediately wanted to do a colonoscopy. However, she gave me an
Antibiotic for bacteria, Metronidazole.
She had all sorts of test ordered, blood, urine, and stool. They came back normal.
Need a colonoscopy! Well, that's very expensive and my insurance has a $5000 deductible. Not much of an option.
By this time it was mid December and the
Antibiotics had made things worse. I made it through the 10 day dosage but not better. I started taking fiber and finally started getting firmer movements. By the way, I have never felt sick with this. I have felt a little weak due to losing about 10 pounds.
During the holidays I came across an herbalist that seemed to think that I may have parasites. I bought
Black-Walnut hulls and food enzymes. This has seemed to help and still taking the fiber.
Now it's almost February(3 months) and things are working better but still don't seem right. I forgot to mention that since the beginning of this everytime I eat my stomach and intestins go into overdrive. Lots of growling. It's not as bad now as it was in the beginning and some days not at all. I eat regularly and have a good appetite. The only thing I notice now is a low grade headache which to me feels like malnutrution.
I'm considering doing the IF#2 to see if that might help. IF#1 for me is probably not neccessary because I go 2-3 times now and always have.
I know this was lenghthy, but I wanted to be thorough. Thank you for any help in advance.
