Re: Great Smokies CDSA Test (Complete Digestive Stool Analysis)
I worked in conjunction with a doctor here in Australia in getting the test done, and interpreting the results. He put me on the drug it recommended (Nizoral), and I did feel good for some time (about 75 days into the therapy), and it lasted for a few weeks. I thought I was cured, and all my troubles were over, however my infection returned about 2 weeks after stopping the drugs. Since then I have been reluctant to go back on the drugs due to the liver damage and other side effects related to the drug. So I then went on a path of natural anti-fungals, with a fair to moderate success rate only. Basically, I feel good on the anti-fungals for a while, and then bad again. Therefore there must be some underlying cause which encourages the infection to come back, so I am currently looking at the low HCL issue that Jake refers to, together with taking natural anti-fungals and following a
Sugar and alcohol free diet. I am up and down at the moment in terms of reduction of symptomology. But in having said all this, I would actually recommend the GDSA test. It cost me about $400 Aussie dollars but it helped clarify my situation more clearly in my opinion. There are some good digestive markers in the test (but not HCL unfortunately), and if you have an overabundance of yeast or other pathogens, it may be able to pick that up (at least it did in my situation).
Good luck to you. Let me know if theres anything else I can help with.
