Re: RE PRE MARITAL SEX........SOME BACKGROUND INFO...but today it's academic, sad to say..
Hi there,
1. Being an idealist myself, your theory is appealing to me. But allow me to play devil's advocate here:
You are saying love = friendship + sex. That's the ideal situation. But it's very possible that one can't find a partner that has advanced to similar intellectual & spiritual level, and yet is still physically available/desirable. The more advanced the soul is, the harder it is to find an ideal match - there could be ten thousand girls that say "I just want to have fun, I want someone to make me laugh", while none says "I want someone to share a journey of spiritual and intellectual advancement".
We all desire a job that is fulfilling and pays well. But most people have to contend with a job that simply draws a paycheck, and find fulfillment somewhere else. So why can't one separate spirituality/friendship from sex if the search for "frienship+sex" fails? One get his/her intellectual and spiritual nurturing from platonic friendship/spiritual self-advancement or whatever, and get sex from somewhere else, be it no sex, sex with self, sex with someone else.
2. I'm spiritual but not religious. Do you have any good non-religious books you can recommend on this topic?
Thank you.
