About 10 years back I began this habit of eating
2 chopped egg sandwiches for breakfast each morning, and then
each evening, I'd put 2 hard-boiled eggs in salad. That was
4 eggs for me per day, and I kept that up for a year.
At the same time my fondness for shrimps, has reached the extreme.
Well, what then happened was that I ended up with a horrible case
of eczema all over my face. I was horribly ichy and red, and I
had to stay out of the sun, and any heat.
I went to the clinic 2 times. They'd give me cortisone creams
but you know it relieves the problem, but the eczema never goes
The second time at the clinic, I asked if I had to start avoiding
any foods. The doc said no.
After 5 months of suffering, I realized the docs weren't going
to tell me what I had to do, so I went to the library.
At the same time I sat down, and said to myself, "What have I
been eating the past year, that I never had the habit of overeating
My answer was there. The book I found said that I must avoid
seafood like shrimps (fish not included), nuts (which I had been
eating a lot of also), and eggs - which God knows I had overdone
I stopped all those foods, but that wasn't the only thing I had
to stop. Any food with preservatives would inflame me, so I
stopped them too. I ate pure food for a year. The eczema
finally went away, but even then, until the second year, I still
wasn't able to eat more than 2 eggs a month.
Of course, I eat those foods again, but very little of them.
Nuts still inflame my face if I eat too many.
It's funny, but the conclusion I made from my experience was that
too much cholesterol and protein could cause eczema. But of
course that may be only in my case, as I get frequent kidney stones.
Bye for now.
P.S. In my case I am convinced that eczema can be avoided.
